I'm an arts enthusiast pointing out glory.
Read It & Rejoice
I love the arts. I love them because they're one of God's love-full-est creations, because they're glorious excess, because they grab hold of your collar and give you a good shaking. Or maybe they just put an arm around you.
I also love to share, so this blog is meant to be a place where writing & the arts coalesce. As you'll soon learn, I'd much rather celebrate a flawed yet beautiful work of art, than tear to pieces one that's not worth your while.
I try not to assume that what I like is what I should like, nor that what I like is what you will / should like. In fact, from time to time, I'll give a warning to you who may struggle with works of art that include certain elements.
Enjoy your stay here. Linger. Look around. Search for older posts (back to 2005). Leave a comment or two. Return as often as you care to.
Pipe Dreams
These are some dreams that have visited me:
1. Starting a university in Europe for English-speaking Christians who believe God has called them to be leaders in their field.
2. Writing an introductory book on film studies that is well-written, easy to read, and embued with the Christian worldview.
3. Making a substantial contribution to Eliot studies.
4. Traveling to each of the 7 continents, every country in Europe, and each region of France.
5. Raising 3 children (each with a different personality and gifts) to be whole people who seek to declare the glory of God.
