Random Facts Meme

My blogfriend Charlie, who writes the beautiful and compelling AnotherThink, tagged me recently with a random facts meme. Here are the rules:

Here's my list of random trivia:

1. I was chosen to be one of the three singing wise men for our third-grade class Christmas production. The other two are now an accountant/real estate investor and a military officer.

2. Back when I didn't know any better and couldn't resist, I listened to "One Sweet Day" about 20 times in a row at a Sam Goody listening station. It's a good song, but I'm glad my musical tastes have expanded.

3. When I was in high school, I worked next to a theatre. After I saw the shockingly good Se7en on a rainy October day in 1995, I knew that watching film would always be one of my greatest loves.

4. I was a conflicted agnostic until my college years. On the way back from distributing tracts at the Olympics during my high school years, I got into an argument about whether Jesus was eternal or not.

5. I roofed houses for an entire year between high school and college.

6. I've kept journals almost entirely non-stop since I was a freshman in high school. In an effort to win my now-wife Alison's sympathies, I gave her a journal that I had written entirely in second person.

7. I spent almost $400 for the best meal that Alison and I ever had. Though I wouldn't necessarily advise that kind of spending, I can't remember any other food that was so deliriously wonderful.

8. I love driving through tunnels and riding a bicycle in the rain.

 

8b. I regret that most of the above sentences begin with I.
